Gamified learning experience, interactive, blended e-learning in Pakistan, upskill and re-skill, online examination.
Customer name: Institute of Financial Markets of Pakistan (IFMP)
IFMP is Pakistan’s first securities market institute; it aims to train professionals to meet the skill needs of the financial market. The Institute provides multiple certifications for different segments of financial markets. In addition, it also provides a platform for research & development, exchange of ideas and consulting services on Financial Markets issues.
Challenge: Closure of on ground examination services amidst the COVID-19 pandemic
IFMP prides itself in being the one of the few institutions training finance professionals and practitioners in Pakistan. With the onset of the pandemic in 2020, IFMP found itself facing the mammoth task of adopting a more digital approach towards conducting their examinations . With its testing centers closed down, IFMP was unable to conduct its certification exams, putting the upskilling of numerous professionals on hold. These tests are used as key performance indicators at various financial institutions, and are often tied to the employees’ professional growth.
Solutions: Transition from Physical Testing to Virtual Examinations
Under these circumstances, IFMP required an online testing platform that was both reliable and easy-to-use. EDTechWorx (EDTW) stepped in for the challenge and offered IFMP its expert consultancy services. After a thorough analysis of IFMP’s workings, EDTW digitized the whole examination process within a matter of days using its innovative e-learning digital platform, called DIP (Digital Interactive Platform). With the help of EDTW’s expert consultancy services and innovative technology, IFMP was finally able to overcome the hurdles put forward by this pandemic. Candidates could easily attempt it on the EDTW online platform, with supervision and invigilation by the EDTW’s team. The platform allows the participants an accessible and interactive interface, which allows users from different ages, and with varying degrees of computer-literacy to take exams for certification. Saima Anwar, a Senior Investment Advisor at Al Meezan Bank describes her experience as “hassle-free and much more convenient than in-person testing”. The platform has revolutionized e-learning in Pakistan, allowing institutions to adopt newer technologies in favour of conventional teaching and testing methods.
IFMP, with the help of EDTW, tested around 700 individuals in the first two testing sessions. The tests conducted include the following certifications: Mutual Funds Basic, Fundamentals of Capital Markets, Pakistan Market Regulations, Banking and Investment Analysis and Mutual Funds Distributor. The response from IFMP and the participants has been overwhelmingly positive, both lauding the platform as a tremendous breakthrough in online testing in Pakistan. EDTW provides an easily-customizable e-learning platform that provides a simple one-click solution to e-learning problems in Pakistan.
