The U.S. Institute of Peace supports a network of local organizations in testing the use of media, arts, culture, and education as tools of engagement for peace building. The Institute also works on police and judicial reform, supports initiatives to strengthen democratic institutions and governance, and promotes women’s voices in security sector policymaking. USIP is collaborating with EDTW to create interactive customized learning Simulations for the National Police Academy in Islamabad.
USIP is helping with modernization of national police academy. They didn’t only want to bring lms but to their organization, but also wanted to bring tools of learning (pedagogy including simulations). They wanted to modernize and make their trainings more adaptive and advanced in relation to modern times.
Simulations are good because they help you make decisions without facing difficulties in real life. Ed tech worx did story boarding, made animations and then simulation, all of which was customized as per the customer’s needs. Now they’re using simulations developed by us to train their ASPs for different situations, and how to effectively deal with them. They play the simulation and then discuss them. They have adapted to personalize learning with the help of EDTechWorx. As per the research, visual memory retains longer hence the scenarios and outcomes played via simulation help better with the learning process. If the trainee then faces a situation in real life, they already know how to tackle it since they have played their way out virtually through simulation.
This resulted in increase in efficacy. They’re better prepared to deal with real situation. Since they remember simulations more hence they can analyze similar situations better. It also modernized their learning and training experience which was previously outdated.
